Dr Melanie Etti is a medical doctor and academic clinical fellow in Infectious Diseases and Medical Microbiology based at the University of Oxford. Following completion of her general medical training in 2019, she spent a year in Kampala, Uganda, working as a clinical research fellow on a project aimed towards reducing rates of neonatal sepsis. She then worked as coordinator of the Maternal, Newborn and Child Health Working Group of the COVID-19 Clinical Research Coalition, an international organization which aimed to support high impact COVID-19 research in low- and middle-income countries. Following these experiences, she went on to complete a Master of Public Health degree with a focus in Global Health at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, supported by a Fulbright Scholarship. Melanie is passionate about health equity and equity in global health research as well as widening participation in medicine and clinical academia.
