Dr Sangeetha Chandrashekeran is a senior research fellow at the University of Melbourne. She has over 20 years of experience working in climate change and energy governance and social policy with government, non-government organisations and universities. Her research focuses on the distributive dimensions of the energy transition and the role of the state. She has undertaken research for the European Union, Climate Policy Initiative, Centre for New Energy Technologies, and the Climate Change Authority amongst others. She has published on a range of energy-related issues including measuring energy poverty, microgrids and regulatory reform, smart meter roll outs, energy market governance and Indigenous clean energy opportunities. Sangeetha was a Fulbright scholar at the University of Chicago. She has a doctorate in geography from the University of Melbourne, a master’s degree from the University of Chicago, and a bachelor’s degree in Law from the University of Melbourne.
