The USAID Global Health 2023-2024 Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) Implementation Plan has three strategic priorities:

  • Recruitment, to improve techniques to better attract diverse talent to GH;

  • Career Development, to standardize the communication of and selection of available detail and temporary detail opportunities;

  • Accountability, to establish new and reinforce existing systems of accountability through a DEIA lens, in terms of leadership practices, workforce-wide behaviors, and accountability for making progress in its DEIA work.

It is under the Accountability strategic priority, that the Language and Communications workstream focused activities to develop resources that will:

  • Create environments that respects the diversity of people and perspectives;

  • Consistently apply values of equity in our policies, practices, and procedures; and

  • Actively solicits the inclusion of all voices.

The resources we will share are aimed at improving and impacting leadership practices and workforce-wide behaviors through the way in which we utilize language and communications.

An endeavor to center respectful, inclusive language across all global health communications channels through our words, images, and videos, while also ensuring all materials are accessible.
