The Asia Pacific Observatory on Health Systems and Policies (APO) is a collaborative partnership of interested governments, international agencies, foundations, and researchers that promotes evidence-informed health system policy regionally and in all countries in the Asia Pacific region.

The APO collaboratively identifies priority health system issues across the Asia Pacific region; develops and synthesizes relevant research to support and inform countries’ evidence-based policy development; and builds country and regional health systems research and evidence-informed policy capacity.

The APO is governed by the Board which sets the strategic direction of the APO, monitors the implementation of the annual work plan, oversees the Secretariat and approves the budget. The APO Board’s membership is open to governments, organizations and institutions, universities and research institutes, foundations and civil society organizations, and multilateral agencies.

The APO’s Board convenes twice a year, normally in June and December.

To set the strategic direction of the APO, monitor the implementation of the annual work plan, oversee the Secretariat and approves the budget
